The big top has rolled into town....

And I'm still flailing around trying to figure out where I'm running.
For the first BFA project we're told to follow a specific artist's style, and I chose Neil Campbell Ross as my person.
Who, by the way, is such a skilled painter that I'm actually embarassed about following his lead.
Here's hoping that I can come up with something worthy.
In the meantime, here's a messy little thumbnail I was playing around with. Maybe it'll lead to something, or maybe it won't.

Barefoot coffee roasters

Has this really awesome cafee brulee, which was blow-torched right in front of me once the order was ready. Haha! I'd recommened that if anyone's going there, and get the kouign amann since those are great too.

I was originally aiming for practicing around 1-2 hours and get on with homework, but this painting turned into a 3-4 hour behemoth which I rushed at the end. Oops. Plus it ended up looking oh so flat after all.....

First week of school

And I couldn't sleep right before the BFA class. Whee...in health news, my stomach's been doing the rumba all throughout the week in random times.
But it's nowhere near as serious as what happened during the break, so I just have to be really careful with my days.

...which still doesn't explain why I was up at 4 o'clock in the morning painting this wood owl figure my parents sent from home until it was time for me to go and line up for a locker.

Coming out of hiding...

To say that I'm not dead yet! har har har har....

For anyone who's heard of it, this summer has been a really long medical epic for me. But I'll be ok for the long term, even if my stamina's probably already cut in half thanks to the whole episode.
BFA's going to be twice as interesting now, I bet.
But I've been able to do work almost everyday while I'm recuperating, so although I didn't get a lot of practice in, I got a ton of digital stuff out thanks to some freelance stuff I got.

Here's one of the things I got to work with, out of a few dozen more of his brethens. So the Hugglay says wassup.

Fun...and random.

Today I painted mushrooms. Marinated mushrooms are tasty too....

Cramming in a lot of stuff now...

And finally I have some time to draw outside...
