decolletage
Figure drawing. This time focused on the body instead of the face like I usually do. A little bit looser than usual, which is nice since I have a tendency to go to render mode too fast sometimes...

more game stuff
This time from a project I worked on last year. It's an online game called Virtual Villagers 5, and I did most of the cutscene illustrations that show up during story moments. Fun to work on, but on average I was limited to only 2-3 days to work on them, and had to match it with a pre-existing style, which was pretty challenging.
One of my co workers also pointed out that the shot with the man holding a mask had a palette and feel that looks like the poster for Zac Efron's movie Charlie St. Cloud. I didn't watch it, but I did see a preview of it when I was watching the A-Team movie. Funny how a fleeting impression got sucked into my brain like that. Hah!

Gallery piece
Here's another side project I just finished. This piece is a part of "The Games We Play" gallery show my company held in tandem with GDC 2011, showcasing 25 game artists doing what they do outside of work.
The gallery's called Nieto Fine Arts and it's located close to Union Square, just off of Sutter and Powell. The show's going to run till March 28th, so come by to check it out! there's a lot of cool pieces by other cool artist, including my peeps Chrystal Chan and Lamnho Giang :)

Rothmar the Invincible
For many an age, tales have been sung of Rothmar, the fabled slayer of mice men.
His gloried quest against the wickedness of his foes have warmed many a chincilla on a cold, frosty night. They can sleep safely, knowing that Rothmar is their great protector.
Hahaha. And so up there's my quick illustration accompanying the tales told by a fellow artist known as Kelly Ricker. She tells better stories than I do.

Here's an in-progress concept I've been trying to wrap up. There's still some problematic areas I'll have to fix, especially the water reflections..yikes!
An earlier version of this piece was used in a cutscene for a project that's released recently, which is Last Day of Work's Virtual Villagers 5.
You get to see it near the end of the game, but this one's not going to spoil the story in case anyone's playing it :p
